International Mud Day 2023
Earlham Nursery School celebrated International mud day a day early this year as we have so many fun activities coming up before the
summer.
Mud Play is important for children to develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills, increase awareness of their senses, particularly touch, improve hand/ eye coordination and develop their social and emotional skills, including taking turns and leading/following directions. All of the children had the chance to take part in a variety of different activities including going down the mud slide, playing with the muddy animals, making muddy foot prints and much much more!

Christmas in Fox Room
The children in Fox Room celebrated Christmas by dressing up in their Christmas, decorating the class tree, making reindeer food and having a visit from Father Christmas himself!!
Let's Go to the Park
The children had an amazing time visiting the park together and trying out the equipment. The swings and see-saws are excellent for the development of proprioception (the awareness of our body's position and movement).
Reflections
In Fox Class we have been learning to recognise and compare ourselves using mirrors.
We have used a variety of materials to explore colours around the nursery. We have continued our learning about colours through printing with paints, playdough and box-time activities.
Face Paints in Fox Room
It's Raining, It's Pouring!
A little bit of rain doesn't stop us from playing in the garden...it just gives us new experiences! We wrap up in our waterproofs and play in the puddles together. Look what happens when we add some powder paint...
Sunny Days!
We have been making the most of the sunny weather before Autumn reaches us by playing with water in our garden. We are very lucky in Fox Room to have our own little outdoor space to play in, with access directly from the classroom.
Adventures in the Garden
The children love going into the big garden where they can climb trees, ride bikes, explore nature and play with their friends from our other classes.
