The Garden
We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing acre of garden. Over the years this space has been transformed from a flat concrete and grassed space, to the wonderful exciting garden which allows all the children to develop their physical skills, as well as all other areas of the curriculum. All classes have waterproofs and wellington boots for every child so regardless of the weather we can all still enjoy this fantastic space. Children have free flow into this space every day and also enjoy weekly Forest School session, where they learn to build dens, how to use tools safely, as well as care for the environment and exploring the wonderful wildlife who share this space with us. We also have a small allotment, and the children enjoy growing their own produce, which they then gather to be used in their cookery or to give to Bridie, our cook, for lunch and snack. The children enjoy playing in the large sandpit, at the mud kitchen, in the rill, playing hide and seek in the trees and running, rolling and riding the bikes up and down the hill! Over the year we also use this space for water days, mud days, pumpkin carvings sessions with parents, family forest school days, during science week and community events and for our weekly family Forest Adventure session.
Sledging!!
We were lucky enough to still have some snow at Nursery on Monday, enough to spend a morning sledging down our hill!
