Over the year children in Rabbit & Robin Classes have been having lots of fun in their yoga classes, linking the moves and poses we do with the topics we have been learning about in the classroom. In the first half term we where exploring insects poses, such as beetles on our backs and rolly poly woodlice were definitely a few of their favourites! This half term we where thinking about the different animals we have as pets and also which animals we find at the zoo and using these as our inspiration for the poses we added into our practice. Yoga helps children manage their anxiety. The
breathing exercises and relaxation techniques learned from practicing yoga can help children with stress management. Teaching children how to reduce stress in a healthy way is an important life skill that will help them as children and as adults. Yoga also improves children’s emotional
regulation.
